Through the use of the soroban abacus we can achieve three main goals:

1. Make Maths more tangible for children (through the visualisation of abstract concepts). As a child's skill levels improve, Maths becomes easier and more enjoyable.

2. Impove mental calculation, both in terms of accuracy and of speed (a skill that will last for their entire lives).

3. Learn English (crucial for their future professional development).
